According to records from community consultations conducted in the project target villages of Hlaing Bwe Township, children and their families are facing various challenges in the areas of education, health, child protection, participation, and livelihoods. During these consultations, community members also confirmed their willingness to continue addressing these needs and challenges through their Village Development Committees (VDCs).
However, the Village Development Committees have limited resources to effectively address the identified community needs and continue to require technical and financial support. Therefore, a township-level development network named “Dona Yeik” was established on 17 December with the participation of 29 representatives from 18 Village Development Committees. The purpose of forming this network is to provide leadership, coordination, advocacy, supervision, and linkage support at the township level for Village Development Committees that are actively addressing the needs and challenges of project target villages.
